Everything seems calm now.For your own safety , just try to avoid going to codwred pubs and clubs favored by westerners ( i think it would be hard for you to resist ). The risk of a terrorist attack is always there and these places are always the favorite targets of the terrorists. Besides the risk of terrorism, check also the safety aspect of the places you intend to go into ( especially codwred bars and pubs ). Check if these places have proper emergency exits. Don’t allow yourself to be exposed to risk like what happened to the fire in a club in Bangkok few months ago. As regards to your nationality, though terrorist hate Americans but they are not going to single out only Americans when they attack. They target places liked by westerners and have no qualms even to kill their fellow Indonesians. When in Indonesia, there is no need to go around proclaiming that you are an American, be as low profile as possible. Safety risks are always there but that doesn’t mind you must stay away from Bali.
